There is plenty of cultural hubs throughout our county with places such as Monaghan County Museum, The Garage Theatre and The Patrick Kavanagh Centre attracting large amounts of visitors each year. The Garage Theatre

 

With regular events and theatrical shows, The Garage Theatre provides a fantastic venue for touring theatrical groups who produce high-quality professional theatre. It is situated on the on the Armagh Road at the Monaghan Education Campus and also serves as a resource for the local community and amateur groups. Monaghan County Museum

 

Monaghan County Museum has been serving the people of Monaghan for over 40 years. During which, it has diversified to match the needs of a changing community. This award-winning museum has a professional commitment to excellence in caring for and displaying its collection, as well as making that collection as accessible as possible both intellectually and physically.

 

The museum has a number of outreach exhibitions throughout the county, the museum displays have been recently updated with new accessible exhibits and the museum website and Facebook page both have up to date information on collections and events.

 

The Patrick Kavanagh Museum

 

The Patrick Kavanagh Museum is located in Inniskeen in Co. Monaghan and was set up to commemorate the infamous poet Patrick Kavanagh. The facility itself was opened by Mary Robinson in 1994 and showcases exhibitions of Kavanagh's life story along with as well as the history of the surrounding area.

Spend some time visiting some of the bustling markets around Co. Monaghan.

• Carrickmacross General Market, Location: Town Centre, every Thursday, 8.00am – 5.00pm and
